The great lake Baikal is the largest and deepest fresh water lake on earth. Situated in the Siberian region of Russia, this lake is home to over 2500 species of animal. If you look to the horizon, it feels much more like being on the seafront rather than beside a lake.
Walking along the lakeshore, we found this small island.
Showing one of the many aspects of the lake’s biodiversity, the giant rock is used as a nest-ing site by birds resting from flying around the lake’s coastline.
