It is not often that something so simple can also be so rich, with so many facets and details. A functional object that plays with the light so well, emitting its glow in so many different situations.

Light bulbs are one of my favourites, such timeless objects. They can take many forms and can inspire many different feelings and reactions. Vintage tungsten light bulbs have an additional romantic feeling casting their illumination and playing with shadows.

The light generated by the tungsten filaments reflects on the invisible glass of the bulb and more surprisingly, very clearly on the stems supporting the filaments. The filaments themselves take on life, like small spiral snakes around the glass core. Light creating light in such fine detail.

A shiny white background and a dark lamp that rises and casts its shadow like a classic lamppost. Simple, functional and with a straightforward elegance. Everything is about perception.

Like a campfire, the light of the bulb glows inside this copper shade, illuminating the geometric forms and detailing of the shade. The image is reinforced by the shadows where content is hidden but still visible when observed closely.

Simple? Complex? I will let the viewer think about the rest of the images of the wall. Even the simple bulbs on the wall have complex innards and variety in how they all generate their light. The same role yet achieved in such variety of ways.
